QCF Level 2 Certificate in Healthcare Support Services

Who it is for?

This qualification aims to assess and develop the knowledge and skills of people working in a variety of healthcare support roles, such as:

Cleaner, Housekeeper, Porter, Kitchen Assistant and Receptionist.

What you will study?

Each unit within the Certificate has a credit rating and to achieve the QCF level 2 certificate in healthcare support services learners must achieve a minimum of 26 credits, with 14 gained from the following mandatory units:

  • Introduction to Communication in Health, Social Care for Children and Young People's Settings;
  • Introduction to Personal Development in Health, Social Care for Children and Young People's Settings;
  • Introduction to Equality and Inclusion in Health, Social Care for Children and Young People's Settings;
  • The Role of the Health & Social Care Worker Contribute to Health & Safety in Health & Social Care.

In addition to the core units , each learner will choose optional units that are specific to their job role.

Learning and assessment

There are no examinations. Training and assessment is available on a 24 hours seven days a week basis. You will be allocated an Assessor who will visit you in your workplace at a time which meets your needs and those of your employer. Your Assessor will work with you to plan and assess your practical work and give you the support you need to put together a portfolio of evidence which shows you have skills and knowledge required to achieve your certificate.

Entry Requirements

The course is open to candidates at any gender, race or age. However, candidates must be employed in a workplace which gives you the opportunity to demonstrate the skills required to achieve your certificate.

How long will it take?

Depending on experience most participants complete within 8-12 months.

Progression

On completion of this program candidates are able to progress on QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care or the level 3 Diploma in Healthcare support services.
