This course authorises the trainer to use the trainers pack to cover the following areas:

This course is for staff in residential care / nursing homes and those providing care in the community who may be called upon to undertake training and assessment of manual handling tasks. The course will equip participants with a thorough knowledge of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 which came into force on 1 January 1993, and the prescribed method by which employees can minimise the risk of injury while undertaking manual handling operations in the course of their normal duties.

The assessment model HSS provides comes in the form of a Manual in three sections:
  1. Your Manual Handling Policy
  2. Assessment Process & Forms
  3. Categories of Manual Handling Manoeuvres

Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults

Trainer Familiarisation Course
Course fee of £349 + VAT
(£50 + VAT Reduction for existing clients)
  • A Full Days Training at the Course Venue

  • Trainer's Notes
  • Computer CD containing PowerPoint Presentation, Handouts and Certificate Masters
  • The training day includes Tea / Coffee / Lunch
This course authorises the trainer to use the trainers pack to cover the following areas:
  • Understanding what is meant by the term ‘vulnerable adult’
  • Knowing the forms abuse may take
  • Recognising signs and symptoms
  • Knowing what to do and what not to do
This is the ideal package for senior staff in residential care / nursing homes and those providing care in the community who may have to deliver safeguarding of vulnerable adult training to management and employees.

Please note that a £50 reduction of the course fee is available to those delegates whose business premises are more than 50 miles from the specialist course.

First Aid (Appointed Persons) Trainer

Trainer Familiarisation Course
Course fee of £499 + VAT Includes:
  • Two Full Days Training at the Course Venue
  • Trainer's copy of the Training Manual
  • Computer CD containing PowerPoint Presentation, Handouts and Certificate Masters
  • Supporting British Heart Foundation First Aid DVD
  • Accreditation of In house delivery following training
  • The training includes Tea / Coffee / Lunch on both days
This course authorises the trainer to use the trainers pack to cover the following areas:
  • Action to be taken in the event of an emergency occurring at work
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation methods
  • Dealing with an unconscious casualty
  • Correct actions to take with regard to control of wounds and bleeding
  • Action to take on a range of other first aid situations
  • How first aid stocks should be maintained and the contents of boxes
This is the ideal package for senior staff in residential care / nursing homes and those providing care in the community who may be called upon to deliver first aid training to employees. Training provides the skills necessary to run first aid appointed persons training.

Participants on this training course must hold a current recognised First Aid at Work Certificate and must ensure their certificate is current when they deliver HSS First Aid (Appointed Persons) Training to others.
